    Default Error on Rename Domain

    Hi,

I'm trying to rename my primary domain : domainA.com to domainB.com by using the following command :

    Code:
    su - zimbra
    zmprov -l rd domainA.com domainB.com
IP, DNS and /etc/hosts are prepared accordingly with the requirement for new domain but it failed with the following result :

ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: unable to list all objects) (cause: javax.naming.CommunicationException Read timed out)
Now, both domain status are shutdown, mailbox disabled and some account are with new domain and the rest still using old domain.

Any clue for resolving the problem?

Note : I have a full backup for my Zimbra system so I can restore it but I would like to resolve the problem before trying to restore to it's original setting.
    Best Regards

vavai > Were you able to solve this problem? We're getting the exact message after a rename domain was attempted. We're running Zimbra 7.2.1.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I could not using zmprov -l rd domainA.com domainB.com. I can achieve the similar result by using a "dirty-hand coded" by manually rename LDAP setting.

Below what I do to achieve similar result (rename domain, may be not recommend but I have no choice and the result was Okay until now)

    1. Backup all system (is a MUST)
    2. Export LDAP setting using slapcat
    3. Stop Zimbra service
    4. Edit the result of slapcat LDAP setting by using text editor
    5. Remove all LDAP configuration & database
    6. Re-create LDAP setting and dump the backup LDAP setting & database
    7. Start Zimbra service
    Best Regards

    Hi all,

I met the same error when using zmprov -l rd old.com new.com. I have one system with ~2000 account when using the command.

Can I just do step by step as follow, it would be same steps as described in ZCS documentation when using zmprov -l rd :

    - Create the new domain in the same zimbra box
    - Rename all account from abc@old.com to abc@new.com using zmprov ra
    - Delete the old.com domain

    Is that right ?

Looks like the old JNDI timeout bug to me. set the timeout to zero instead of 30.
