    Unhappy Zimbra ZCS OSE 7.1 no option for one time clearing of contact cache

    Hi,

    Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't seem to find a way of clearing the contacts cache for all users. Please follow this procedure to understand what I mean. I am doing this on Zimbra Web Client

    1. Delete all Contacts and Emailed Contacts.
    2. Empty the trash, clear browser cache or use another browser from other computer.
    3. Compose a new message.
    4. On the To: field, start typing a single letter and see all your contacts appear in the auto complete list. Disregard the contacts with the Globe icon since this is from the GAL.
    5. The only way it will be deleted was to click the Forget link beside the contact.

    I have disabled automatic adding of contacts from the COS and also tell my user that they can disable the Emailed contacts on their side via Preferences.

    Now, I have 100+ users and tries to clean their contacts. They are complaining that they have already deleted the wrong email contact and yet it still appears on the auto complete list. I told them to click the Forget link beside the contact but is there any one way to forget all of those?

    What am I suppose to do to start my email with blank contacts and zero auto complete list except the GAL?

    The same is true on Zimbra Desktop

    You can clear it from the command line:

    Code:
    zmsoap -z -m user@domain.com RankingActionRequest/action @op=reset
    That will remove all of the contacts from the ranking table.

    Thanks Krishopper. This saves my day .

    Perhaps I would tell our user that this would be done by us at the admin side and on a per request basis.
