You shouldn't have done that, the View Mail button actually works in ZCS 7.x and the version you've installed was only for ZCS 8 - you need to revert to the original zimlet.

The second file in my post is called com_zimbra_viewmail.zip and is what you are looking for in Zimbra 7.x.

Anybody know why URL in ViewMail zimlet generates HTTP url even Zimbra server works in mode "redirect" to HTTPS.
When ViewMail tries to open url http://zimbra.mydomain.com/.... - login view mailbox page can't be opened.

I use the Zextras zimplet to get this feature on Zimbra OSS, but the http/https behaviour is not related to the zimlet itself, you need to set a specific domain property:
    Code:
zmprov md domain.com zimbraPublicServiceHostname mail.example.com zimbraPublicServiceProtocol https zimbraPublicServicePort 443

    ------------------

    I confirm, same here.
There is a bug report about it: #73162
    The admin documentation about it.

As a workaround you can get it from the Network edition (cf. bug report).
Maybe also from FOSS 7.1.4, I didn't try as yet.

    Edit:
    no such zimlet in 7.1.4
I attached the zimlet's zip file so you don't need to download the whole network zcs.
    The zimlet also works for:
8.0.0_GA_5434.FOSS (thanks to troublemaker for testing)
To be complete I added the zimlet from version 8 (from zcs-NETWORK-8.0.0_GA_5434.UBUNTU12_64.20120907144808).

    How to:
    1. download the zip file for your version.
for Zimbra 8: rename the zip file to read com_zimbra_viewmail.zip
    2. deploy the zimlet in your Zimbra admin console
    3. log out and back in to the console: the view mail button should be there.
    Hi,

I've just updated from 7.2.1 to 7.2.2 and "view mail" has also disappeared ;(
Is the zimlet will work for 7.2.2 please ?

    Thanks for your help
