I'm new to zimbra. I am having a strange issue with distributions lists. I have an involved set of scripts to create distribution lists in zimbra based on a source oracle database, representing a large membership roster. The scripts use zmprov to create and modify attributes on zimbra lists, adding members and allowed senders.
The scripts attempt to create about 1000 lists. On the first run, some of the lists were not created properly. I have tried to remove them all, most were successful, but there are now 85 lists in zimbra that I cannot get rid of.
I can see all 85 listed in the Distribution Lists screen in the Admin Console, but I cannot make any changes to them or delete from the admin console. The message returned when i try to delete one is
Message: system failure: unable to purge distribution list: 9f03fc93-9ead-4930-9c7d-780f51fab790 Error code: service.FAILURE Method: [unknown] Details:soap:Receiver
zmprov does not list them.
$ zmprov gadl
I can get their information
$ zmprov gdl ~email@example.com
# distributionList ~firstname.lastname@example.org memberCount=0
zimbraACE: (144 user emails listed here ....)
I cannot delete them, or make any changes.
$ zmprov rdla ~email@example.com ~firstname.lastname@example.org
ERROR: account.NO_SUCH_ALIAS (no such alias: ~email@example.com)
$ zmprov ddl ~firstname.lastname@example.org
ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: unable to purge distribution list: 9f03fc93-9ead-4930-9c7d-780f51fab790)
Is there some way to check for a corruption, or missing linkage entries, and get these fixed up ?
Thanks very much for any help offered
