    Default SMTP Relay Questions

    Hi guys,
    I want to configure the relay for my Zimbra server
    Only allow 127.0.0.0/8 and 10.1.1.0/24

    I guess the setup will be place here,
    Server settings > MTA > MTA Trusted Networks > 127.0.0.0/8 10.1.1.0/24

    But right now I run a test and facing a problem that I configure the SMTP sending mail by using the PHP code, the code similar to below,

    Code:
    $mail             = new PHPMailer();

    	$mail->IsSMTP();
    	$mail->Host       = "mail.abc.com";

    	$mail->CharSet = 'utf-8'; // SET UTF-8

    	$mail->From       = "andy@abc.com";
    	$mail->FromName   = "ABC Pte Limited";

    	$mail->Subject    = "[Testing]";

    	$mail->MsgHTML($body);

    	$mail->AddAddress($emailadd, "");
    The server IP is 192.168.1.10, and send notification using andy@abc.com and sending email to other mail provider, example email notification.
    and it is send successful.

    Here is the question,
    I do not add 192.168.1.10 as my relay and why it is able to send? can I disallow the server using our email server to send email out?

    Hope someone expert can give me advice on this question.

    The MTA trusted networks restrict the networks that can RELAY, i.e. send mail FROM abc.com. If the mail is FOR your domain (abc.com) then it will be accepted whatever the source.

    If you want to restrict where mail can be received from then I think it's the Postfix filters, but that's not my forté.

    Yes, abc.com is my domain...
    Yes... basically I want to restrict where the other people using my domain.com to sending out any email..

    Previously, I'm using qmail... I'm able to do that...
    By default it is block everyone, in order to allow the SMTP relay I just add in the relay client, then I can able to configure the settings to send out email by our domain (abc.com)

    Is there any one can advice me on Zimbra? How to do it?

    You could have found the answer to this in the forums or wiki, search them for the word "restrict".

    Hi Phoenix,
    Not sure you understand what I asking...
    Basically, before that I'm using qmail server, I can allow or deny the access from other hosts...
    This is the setup I did in qmail server...
    Relaying with qmail

    Just would like to know, is it Zimbra Server can do the same??
    Hope you can guide me to the exact forums or wiki...
    I'm trying to search around from forums and wiki, but don't really know which one is match my question...
    Is this the solution?
