Default Zimbra 8 on ESXi 5.1 Added Virtual Hard Drive as /opt Parition thin or thick ?

    hi,
i am planning to install zimbra 8 on VPN hosting with 1000/GB Disk formatted using LVM on Centos 6.3

Centos 6.3 installed with 100 GB of Disk ,i added new drive on my virtual machine and want to mount on /opt for zimbra storage .

    /opt ( /dev/sdb) 800GB ( VMDK THin or THick ???? )

i want to ask whether to create Thin or think drive for /opt ? is there any performance effect on zimbra ?

On both my home ESXi 5 system and work's, I've always used thin

Been running that way since November 2009.

From Esxi 4 we can use Thin provisioning in production envirnment , as explain in
VMware KB: Using thin provisioned disks with virtual machines
    http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/VMwa...ning-DS-EN.pdf

VMware® vStorage Thin Provisioning dramatically increases virtual machine storage utilization by enabling dynamic allocation and intelligent provisioning of physical storage capacity.
    • Increase storage utilization• Enhanced application uptime• Simplified management

    Default zimbra /opt virtual disk (800GB) added as ( Mode:Independent <Persistant >

    hi ,

    as i configured Centos installation on Disk /dev/sda 128 GB and /opt Disk /dev/sdb 750GB ( thin drive,Independent Persistent)

i have added /opt virtual disk as independent persistent Mode. As i doesn't effect the snapshots when we want to revert any Operating system problem.

Otherwise if /opt disk is not independent then our zimbra data store /opt will also revert to previous condition.

    any comments ??
