I just thought i'd tell everyone that I've finally taken the plunge top upgrade 3.1.4 to 4.0.4 this morning, and it went fine.

Just to remind everyone, although it is in the Wiki, here is what I did.

1) I did a;
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/zimbra stop

2) Then;
# su zimbra
# zmcontrol stop

and then just to make sure that everything had stopped;

# ps auxww | grep zimbra

I always get a few log files still there, so I kill them individually.

4) Once that is all done and nothing is running, do a;

# cp -rp /opt/zimbra /backup

(where backup is another directory on your drive)

I know the copy is a hassle... it took me 3 hours to do it, but it's worth while in case things go wrong.

5) Once this had completed, I un-tarred the tarball in /usr/src and changed to the zcs directory.

6) Simply; ./install.sh and then wait! Have patience!

It all went well and the users are happy changing their skins :-)

Hope it all goes well.
