Default Install 7.2: unabale to start

Say what you want about Microsoft Exchange at least its install process is not buggy

After a failed 8.0 install i tried 7.2. Same result cannot start zmconfigd or mysql, after what looked like a successfull install is not. This time it throws no error message.

    Platform cent06 6.3
    Zimbra: zcs-7.2.2_GA_2852.RHEL6_64.20121204211835
    Selinux disable'
    IP Public no NAT
    BIND Yes

    [zimbra@zmail bin]$ ./zmcontrol status
    Host zmail.systemtechit.com
    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Stopped
    mysql.server is not running.
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    stats Stopped
    zmconfigd Stopped
    zmconfigd is not running.
    [zimbra@zmail bin]$

Any help would be very appreiciated. Which should i parse for some clues.
    This is becoming very frustratint.

Neither is installing Zimbra if you install the prerequisites and follow the installation guide, installing ZCS on RHEL is one of the easiest installs to do.

You should remove this versions of ZCS (run "./install.sh -u" to remove everything) and install ZCS 8.0.2. You also need to look in the log files for some clue about what's happening when ZCS starts and what might be causing the problem. You might also need a Split DNS if you are behind a firewall.

I have uninstalled Zim 7 and installed Zim 8. Same result. " zmconfigd[12033]: Can't create listener socket: (98, 'Address already in use')". I have search on Google I have searched this forum, and parsed the log files nothing.
Except one individual solved the same issue by disabling IPv-6. Which I have done at the OS level. Perhaps he was referring to disabling it within Zimbra, but he did not share the full solution. Can IPv6 be disabled w/in Zim?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have never had any issues with installs and I have build about 20 of these in the last 6 months or so.

I would go with what Bill has said. If your behind a firewall then try using dnsmasq as much less agro to setup

    Thanks

    Glenn
