    Question Equivalent (Redundant) Domains?

    Greetings!

    I have to set up a new domain that would be equal to the current domain, I mean, sharing the same accounts, everything. Like an 'alias' domain, for example:

    mycompany.com = my-company.com

    Is it possible to set this up on Zimbra? Even if I have to use postconf to tweak the Postfix settings, no problem as long as it works...

    Thanks!

    My employer changed domains and then decided to keep the old domain as well and I did exactly what you're describing.

    I created a new domain and then added an alias to each account for the same username, but with the second domain. All mail is delivering fine.

    I didn't have to do anything outside of the GUI for this one, other than fixing the MX records in DNS for the second domain.

    Hope this helps

    I think this is a good start. But I'm afraid my problem can get a little more complex... Imagine doing that for 4 domains and 50 accounts... Administration will get nasty. I think it would still be better to find another solution, even it that would mean tweaking the postfix settings. But thanks, Britt!

    I think Zimbra's Brian posted this somewhere on here quite a while ago, but I can't find it now. According to my notes, however, it has the following format:
    Code:
    zmprov cd foobar.com zimbraDomainType alias
    zmprov md foobar.com zimbraMailCatchAllAddress @foobar.com zimbraMailCatchAllForwardingAddress @foo.com
    This will forward user@foobar.com -> user@foo.com

    It is working for 2 domains on my server.

    EDIT: found the thread here , and it was Zimbra Employee marcmac, not Brian.

    It's in the wiki too : http://wiki.zimbra.com/index.php?title=ManagingDomains

    (Just to remind people to search the forum and wiki first)
