Default Receive mail from external "drop box" [Solved]

    Hi,
I installed ZCS free edition on SLES and want to get mail from an external "drop box" at my ISP. I created an external account on my Admin account, but it does not collect the mail. Is this the correct way to collect the mail or how do I set it up?

I am not sure what diagnostics to send. zmprov polling output:

zimbra@arkmail:~> zmprov gc default | grep Polling
    zimbraDataSourceCalendarPollingInterval: 12h
    zimbraDataSourceMinPollingInterval: 1m
    zimbraDataSourceRssPollingInterval: 12h
    zimbraFeatureMailPollingIntervalPreferenceEnabled: TRUE
    zimbraMailMinPollingInterval: 2m
    zimbraPrefMailPollingInterval: 5m

    Hi,

Did you test the external account settings? Did you set up your "drop box" with "leave messages on server" and fetch it using another mail client?

You can also using fetchmail to fetch your emails from ISP into Zimbra : Fetchmail Configuration & How to Integrate with Mail Server | Spirit of Change

    Greetings Vavai,
Apologies for the long response time, but I was away.
The external pop account is on the ISP's mail server.
From your answer I deduct that ZCS does not collect natively when used as an internal mail server.
    Three questions:
    1. Your VERY GOOD tutorial hints tha fetchmail strips the "envelopes" from the mail. Is it possible to use some smtp agent to collect the mail?
    2. "Edit Fetchmail configuration within your home folder" - I take it that I have to create a Linux user with a ZCS mail account for this?
    3. If I collect the mail from a drop box, do I still need to configure the DNS records?
    Thanking you in advance.

With the aid of Vavai's tutorial this now works great. I use the admin account for fetcmail and left the DNS records in.
