Very weird problem
I'm in a huge jam with this problem. We're running Zimbra NE 7.1.3 on Ubuntu 8.04 64 bit.
Yesterday i got to the customer's site and shut down the ZCS to install a new psu, case fan and cpu fan. When it was rebooted the entire ZCS environment reverted to Dec. 2011. Including all emails. And of course since this is the NE, the back up for it also caught all the new/old dates.
/opt/zimbra is on it's own drive on a reiserfs.
What else can I look at to recover the 1 1/2 years of missing mail?
I'm guessing you mean the time and date of the machine was lost? You'll need to get into the BIOS setup and reset it. Most likely you'll need to replace the CMOS battery as well.
I wish. The machine is running normally. BIOS time is good. When we rebooted the machine, the main / and /boot directories were fine. The /opt/zimbra directory had a date of Dec. 2011. With the email from that date and nothing in between.
The only other thing that comes to mind is file system snap shots. I do snap shots when syncing (XFS Filesystem) between the main mail server and a hot spare.
