    Default "Away message" activation

    Does anyone know if there is a special trick to get the "Away message" feature to work for a user account? I have done the following:

    -Enabled the "Out of office reply" for the specific mail account with a checkmark.
    -Enabled the "Away message enabled" within the user's options section of their Zimbra web interface (under the "Mail" tab) with a checkmark.
    -Entered text within the "Away message" text field

    However, the user account fails to send a message back to the sender.

    Any idea on how to get this to work?

    away message is sent only if recipient's address is in the To or Cc headers.

    also away message is sent only once is a configruable interval to any one sender address (7 days by default).

    Default Criteria met

    1. Yes, the recipient's address should show up in the To or Cc headers, since the test messages are being sent from the sender with the Zimbra user's address in the To field.

    2. Where is the "configruable interval to any one sender address" set? If it's 7 days by default, does that mean that an autoreply will not be automatically sent until 7 days later, unless I modify that interval?

    Thanks.

    duplicate away messages will not be sent to the same user in the given interval. You can change it with zmprov on the account (zimbraPrefOutOfOfficeCacheDuration).

    Another thing you can try is disable away message, save, enable away message. This clears the cache of who away messages have been sent to.

    Do you know what the full zmprov command syntax would be to change the "zimbraPrefOutOfOfficeCacheDuration" setting? The zmprov help screens weren't specific enough to help with this. Does this setting apply for an individual account, a cos, or a full domain?

    It is on account and cos (and please don't modify that zimbra-attrs.xml file, all bets are off if you do):

    Code:
    $ grep CacheDuration /opt/zimbra/conf/attrs/zimbra-attrs.xml
    <attr id="386" name="zimbraPrefOutOfOfficeCacheDuration" type="duration" cardinality="single" optionalIn="account,cos" flags="domainAdminModifiable">
    So the command line would be:

    Code:
    zmprov ma user@domain zimbraPrefOutOfOfficeCacheDuration 1d
    for one day. The duration syntax is:

    Code:
    duration: ^\d+[hmsd]?$. If [hmsd] is not specified, the default is milliseconds.
