Upgrade to 4.5
Sorry for this beginners question but I installed 4.05 (by mistake) a week ago, and I couldn't find any information on how to upgrade to 4.5 (always Open Source versions).
What is that I have to back up?
I just have to install on top?
Could I chose to install from scratch one of the core services (Apache-tomcat)?
Thanks and sorry again for my ignorance.
No, you can't install one of the core services you need to install the complete package. You do exactly the same for an upgrade as you do for a clean install and that is: unpack the file you've downloaded then run the ./install.sh script - it detects an already install zimbra nd will upgrade (it asks if that OK). There are several threads in the forums about backup but you should shutdown Zimbra then using rsync bto backup the /opt/zimbra directory.

If I may ask, which are the folders that remain untouched? I guess the store one. Which others?
I I made modifications in my installation for a mod_jk in some of the apache conf folder (in order to run apache and tomacat together). That is why I'm asking.
I don't know exactly which folders are untouched except the store, I'm sure there's more than that.
You can't go far wrong if you remember - there's no guarantee with any upgrade to Zimbra that your modifications would remain in place. They may or may not so always document them and check after an upgrade.:)
