    Default Incoming mail bouncing

    Hi there

That should be "Incoming" of course - dyslecix snice brityh 'ere :-)

I'm getting this message when one of my ICT experts tries to email our Zimbra test server (**) ....

    ...............................
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<andyc@xxxxx.co.uk>:
host xxxxxxl.co.uk [xx.xx.xxx.x]: 550-Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client, or login to the 550-IMAP/POP3 server before sending your message.
    ..............................

Presume I have to turn something on somewhere but where?

    TIA all

** ZCS running over Ubuntu VM

    Are all administrators on holiday?

I need to sort this out as a matter urgency and before I loose faith in Zimbra again

The error indicates a configuration problem with the email client, not your server...

    The email client?

I'm simply using the web interface on https://192.168.xx.xx:7071/zimbraAdmin/ and loading the mail from "manage accounts" / view mail

Surely this indicates a server error and the "view mail window" reads straight from the server?

Interesting... did you change your postfix config to require SMTP auth for all connections?

Remember I'm not a serious Linux tecchie - I'll have to ask the team here what postfix command I need to check / change at the console - if you have any hints that would be great.

OK and thanks - edited main.cf and checked out OK - reset router gateway sessions as was and refreshed, added "mail" to domain "A" record at ISP - now WAD
