Unhappy zmconfigd stopped - RedHat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.1 + Zimbra 8.0.0

    Dear All,

Please i need your support, after the #zmcontrol restart i got all zimbra services are working fine except the zmconfigd is stopped.

    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Running
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    stats Running
    zmconfigd Stopped
    zmconfigd is not running.

And when i checked the /opt/zimbra/log/zmconfigd.log i found this error and it's repeated:

Starting zmconfigd...Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmconfigd", line 30, in <module>
    import state
IOError: [Errno 2] File not found - /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/pylibs/state$py.class (Permission denied)
    failed.

    Please advice and help

Why don't you search the forums for the error message, you'll find several possible solutions if you try that first.

If you are really running 8.0.0, I would strongly advise you to upgrade ASAP before your entire system corrupts.

yeah, there's some temporary files that sometimes end up owned as root for some reason under RHEL, and block zmconfigd from starting. later ZCS releases try to catch that and take care of it.
