The Deferred Queue
I find a lot of bad e-mail addresses (misspelled domains) that are in the deferred queue. Since I feel that these are probably important e-mails, I end up having to generate an e-mail to the sender and inform them that they have a bad domain on the recipient address and they need to fix that in their address book and send a new message (or forward the original if they keep sent messages). This takes up a lot of my time on a daily basis.
In most cases with my situation, a parent has used a web form to send a note to a teacher about their child and they have entered the e-mail address incorrectly.
What I'd like to have is an option "Bounce" added to the "Delete, Requeue, or Hold" menu. How can we do that?
It's automatically bounced on all mail server but it can take up-to five days for the bounce to happen, it will keep trying to deliver the mail until it fails. You can change that setting to something more to your liking, search the forums for details on how to do it.
