Accidentally we deleted some folders and files from /opt/zimbra ? how we recover this ?

We are using Zimbra 6 in RHEL server.

What is the best way to recover the same ?

We have tar backup for all users but I want to know the best way to proceed ?

    Great News for us.

We solved this problem without any major missing of email or anything.

    What we did is,

    Problem we faced,

    1. Accidentally some of the files and folders deleted in /opt/zimbra . But not fully.

    2. We are unable to start zimbra service and we are not able to login to mysql db also. but while we checked in file system, all mbox db data are present.

    3. Without service start, no one can use zimbra mailbox. all emails are queued in our network and waiting for our service to start.

    Solution:

    1. We confirmed, we have complete backup with us in the form of tar.gz by user wise backup.

    2. Because of available backup, We are planning to take a risk.

    a. We just downloaded the same Zimbra version package and started the installation on our LIVE server without uninstalling the existing zimbra.

    b. Before it starts installation, It ask for do you want to upgrade the current zimbra installation (it means, the existing accounts and mails will be retained) . We say Yes.

Thats it. The installation is proceeded with the same path. All corrupted files and things are modified by this installation.

    We got the solution.

Without any major effort, We solved the major issue.

Now, All emails, alias and distribution lists are completely retained and its usual now.

I believe this forum will use some one who may face the same issue.

    Thanks and Regards,
