You haven't actually given any details of error messages that you've encountered and whether you've searched the forums for this problem (or the errors).

That isn't an error and it doesn't really tell us much, why don't you look in the log files to see what is the actual error for MySQL not starting?

There's nothing wrong with that, why would there be?

Is there any other way to migrate manually ?

For example a fresh installation , and migrate user accounts / users / passwords and files ?

Dont upgrade to version 8. It has a serious bug with POP3 download. See Bug 80563.

You can use one of the migration wiki articles if you like or even use ZeXtras (search the forum for details but still haven't provided any information about why the upgrade 'failed'.

Oh, you mean Oracle still hasn't fixed their Java bug? ZCS 8.x works perfectly well and unless one has a specific need for POP3 there's no problem upgrading to it or deploying it in a production environment.

Maybe Zimbra should add this as a disclaimer in the release notes with version 8.x. Any email can be accessed 3 ways: POP3, IMAP, Webmail. Since no one has unlimited quota, POP3 is the most popular way to keep a copy of your mails locally. POP3 not working is like 1/3 of the functionality broken. So in effect Zimbra works only 66%.

And if Oracle decides not to fix the bug, does it mean POP3 functionality will be taken away from ZImbra? Not a very good roadmap, I must say.
Sincerely my intentions are not malicious, but to raise a genuine concern. And to prevent others from burning their fingers badly like me.

    Regards
