Question Forward Spam email to an external account

Hi all,
I need to forward all spam emails to an external account to be able to process
them and use to increase a blacklist used on my servers.

I know that by default spam mails are moved into Junk folder and are not
passed through user filters.

The only way i found is to disable the "Spam" folder via :

zmprov ma user@mydomain.com -amavisSpamLover TRUE -amavisBypassSpamChecks TRUE

and then create a user filter rule to forward messages.

It's to heavy to setup with different hundreds on mailboxes and the final user (user@mydomain.com)
will lose the original spam email (sometimes there are good emails tagged as spam).

Does someone know a better way to do the same ?

thanks
Maurizio

Why don't you just forward a copy of the mail from the Spam mailbox?
Regards

I need spam emails forwarded as they come into zimbra to have the blacklist
updated as soon as possible. It's not a good idea to ask customers do such
kind of task. A lot of them have hundreds of emails into spam folder and they
cannot lose time to forward emails.

regards

Why do you think that forwarding the mail from the Spam folder wouldn't work? You do realise I'm talking about the system Spam mailbox not the user Junk folder, don't you?

They shouldn't be receiving that many Junk emails, you need to look into improving the anti-spam system on your server or even using cbpolicyd.

They are the same thing, when a user receives Junk email a copy gets sent to the (system wide) Spam folder. My point about your anti-spam system still stands, you need to do some investigation and improvements to stop this quantity of spam being received by the user.

No they aren't. When a user receives a Junk email the email goes only on the user mailbox. The spam account is used for spam training and it will receive emails only when a user mark an email as spam.
No they aren't. When a user receives a Junk email the email goes only on the user mailbox. [/QUOUTE]You said this in your first post:

I know that by default spam mails are moved into Junk folder and are not passed through user filters.
When spam is in the Junk folder it also gets a copy in the system Spam folder whether the user puts it in the Junk folder or it's automatically put in there.

See my comment above. I'll say this again (especially if the spam is arriving in the user mailbox), you'd be far better addressing your efforts in investigating why so much spam is getting into your system and doing something to improve that situation.

It would also be useful if you gave details of which version is in use when you post questions, post the output of the following command:
zmcontrol -v[?CODE]

Bill,
my question is and want to be a general question "is it possible to .... ?" so I omitted the Zimbra version.
I'm using both network and foss, mainly under ubuntu all are or 7.2.6 or 8.0.6.
Yes i could check and/or improve my antispam system but i have to satisfy my clients needs and so i cannot do whatever i want.
The question is "can i forward automatically emails that go inside the junk folder of my mailboxes without loosing them ?"

regards
Maurizio
