Question Attachment Blocking Global Setting appears to do nothing

I'm fairly new to all of this so I apologize if this is a stupid question. I've tried to search these forums and more widely with google but have so far found no helpful or clarifying answers.

I'm trying out an installation of Zimbra 8.0.6 on Centos 6, the FOSS edition. I've setup the domain, gotten it authenticating against my active directory ok, and now I want to block attachments.

I tried checking "Attachments cannot be viewed regardless of COS" under Configure -> Global Settings -> Attachments and hitting save, etc. But it seems that emails with attachments continue without any apparent change. The attachments continue to be sent and received, both.

Have I misunderstood what that setting is supposed to do?

    Default

Well, I never did manage to figure out how to get this to work as I wanted it to.

I ended up messing around with some custom postfix header checks that would block both html emails and
/filename=/ REJECT for any sort of other attachments.

It's probably going to give me a mountain of complaints about false positives but it'll do for now.
