Default Zimbra to Zimbra migration (Open Source version)

Previous post have error and missing?

I want to move my zimbra user accounts to a new server, here what I found to export the users, but run into some error:

    [root@zimbra ~]# /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmailbox -z -m "yjvoo@example.com" getRestURL “//?fmt=tgz” > /tmp/yjvoo.tgz
ERROR: zclient.IO_ERROR (invoke sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: signature check failed, server: localhost) (cause: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: signature check failed)

Any idea how to fix it?

Please read this: ZxBackup: Incremental migration with ZeXtras Backup - ZeXtras Suite Wiki

ZeXtras is perfect for migrating from one server to another regardless of the ZCS version. I recently migrated from 7.2.0 to 8.0.6 and the process was simple and painless. No, I don't work for ZeXtras but I highly recommend it if you're using the Open-Source ZCS edition. Best of all, there's a 30 day free trial that is fully functional. Plenty of time to migrate before you decide to buy the product.

Many members of this forum have used ZeXtras to migrate, backup, and restore. It's definitely worth looking into and will save you a lot of headache.

    Hi,

+1000 for ZeXtras Migration Tool !

However, yjvoo your issue seems related to expired certificates.

    Hi ccelis,

You right! After removed the certificates and regenerate a new one solve the problem.

However, now I facing another issue. Which is when I trying to import the *.tgz file to new server.

Some users will have problem like cannot find the user account.

Obviously the accounts don't exist on the new server. Why don't make your life easier and use the ZeXtras tool as you've been advised?
