    Default contacts autopopulate?

    Hi,

I have been searching the forums for a while and have not been able to find an answer to this question.

Is there a way to have the contacts autopopulate with all interal users.

    We are on version 4.5.

I would like the default contacts to have all the accounts for the domain added by default.

The reason is we have people using the outlook connector and people using zimbra mobile.

They would like their contacts to have all the people in out company by default. I could create a csv file that had what we need amd then have people import it but it would get out of date quickly.

    Thank you,
    -Dave

You should be able to set up an address book using LDAP.

I set up an extra email account by the name of companyname@domain.com and made manually maintained the address book in there, then sent an email to all staff telling them how to add the company address book to their contacts.

Of course, this too got out of date reasonably rapidly, because I keep forgetting to update it.

Yes the GAL allows you to not need to know the full email addresses of you coworkers, but tighter intergration would be great.

I'm thinking of the fields available when creating a new emal account, you can key in phone number, full name and all sorts of other stuff, that data should be added to a list which is available to all users, I'm pretty sure Lotus Notes (shudder) had this simple function to allow the company directory to be browsable.

PS, I just noticed wannabetennor changed his nick. John, whats with that then?

    Hi John and Dirk,

Thank you both for taking the time to answer.
I think I should be able to get something going with those suggestions.
