Default Question about AD authentication and admin account

    Hello.

We had a Zimbra domain that uses AD external authentication. This domain (default) was created with an installation. An admin account was created also in that domain with local password, this password was set with an installation.

When I entering into admin console under admin and type local admin password, Zimbra server transfers this password to the AD domain controller in plaintext. That seen from the tcpdump session.

Is this default behavior for Zimbra under those settings? How I can avoid that?

    Default

    Problem solved.

We using Jasig Central Authentication Service to authenticate our AD users into Zimbra. That means, we do not need AD external authentication on our mail domain. I realized that just now. Changing domain authentication settings to Internal takes effect.
