Angry zimbra gui failed to show up after server restart

    I'm testing 8.5beta2 on a test server

first time i've installed it and all were fine (mail sending receiving and all other features) until i restarted the server for the first time after installation.
after restart i got this when trying to access web interface

    Error 404 - Not Found.
No context on this server matched or handled this request.
Contexts known to this server are:

    /zimlet ---> o.e.j.w.WebAppContext@45afc369{/zimlet,[file:/opt/zimbra/jetty-distribution-9.1.4.v20140401/webapps/zimlet/, file:/opt/zimbra/zimlets-deployed/],AVAILABLE}{/zimlet}

Powered by Jetty:// Java Web Server

and nothing really useful in the logs, looks like all is running... just some

failed to troubleshoot the issue i've deinstalled it completely with -u switch and rebooted the server, then installed it again from the scratch, made all the settings and again all were fine until first reboot... after reboot i got the very same error!
Have no idea how to troubleshoot! Please assist!

    Hi MarvinFS,

Any chance you found a resolution to this issue? I've just encountered the same thing (though I've restarted my host machine a few times before this event with no issue).

I noticed my host machine's desktop was not responding at all, and that I could not SSH into it, so I restarted it, then encountered this issue.

I have the same version of the 8.5 Beta on the same host OS (Ubuntu 14.04 x64)

Nope, i haven't found any solution whatsoever !
As it happened 2 times in a row i was too lazy to reinstall it and reconfigure for the 3rd time, so i drop the issue and moved to test stable 8.0.7 - it's working ok.
I guess i will wait for for more stable 8.5 version and will test again!

    Hi MarvinFS,

Thanks for a quick response. Bummer! I think I'll try asking via the 8.5 Beta forum and see if I can get any further help.

Hi, have the same problem as MarvinFS with Version 8.5.0 GA Release Network Edition.
Only a reinstall helps until a restart or a reboot. Then i got the same error.

I am using a fresh installed ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit with the newest updates.

This sounds like the problem discussed in another thread here:

    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/install...-reboot-2.html

We are investigating. There is a workaround discussed in that thread which reenables the services after restart; but that is just a stop gap until we root cause what is causing the services to be removed.

    $zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` +zimbraServiceEnabled service
    $zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` +zimbraServiceEnabled zimbra
    $zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` +zimbraServiceEnabled zimbraAdmin
    $zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` +zimbraServiceEnabled zimlet
    $zmmailboxdctl restart

so before your reply i try different things but without success

i forget my infrastructure is an upgrade from 8.0.7 to 8.5.0 (historically i had just finish my install on 8.0.7 than 8.5 come out....... grrrrrrrrrrr)

    disable zimlet
    delete COS (oh i can't attribute a COS to a domain ....it 's a other problem....... error = Mail : no such cos: [cos_name] Code d'erreur : account.NO_SUCH_COS Détails :soap:Sender)
    nothing working

i re-install (cleanly) bal servers .......nothing
just after i make an ./install on my bal server and like a magic thing it's work

then i test now reboot all .....works

I can testing something that you can help zimbra team
