    Default Import PST as Admin using ZimbraMigrationConsole.exe?

    Hi All,

    I'm trying to import about 40 PST files into accounts on my Zimbra 8.0.7 FOSS server. I've tried to use the ZimbraMigrationConsole.exe tool with an XML file configured with an AdminID and AdminPwd. But it seems like it might not be possible to use an Admin ID to import individual PST files.

    Using port 443, I received the following error:

    Code:
    Logon to Zimbra Server for userAccount testimport@example.com Failed. Authentication Failed for [testimport@example.com]
    I tried to switch to port 7071 since I want to use the AdminID, and it gave this error:

    Code:
    Logon to Zimbra Server for userAccount testimport@example.com Failed. System Failure: Request Not Allowed On Port 7071
    Here's the sanitized XML file:

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Config xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
      <SourceServer>
        <Hostname />
        <AdminID />
        <AdminPwd />
        <Profile />
        <DataFile>\\NAS\share\EXCHANGE\test.pst</DataFile>
        <UseProfile>false</UseProfile>
      </SourceServer>

        <Port>7071</Port>
        <UseSSL>true</UseSSL>
        <AdminID>adminuser@examplehost.com</AdminID>
        <AdminPwd>notmypass</AdminPwd>

    We're trying to migrate all these users from one domain on an Exchange server to a different domain on Zimbra. So I don't think I can just do a server to server migration. Wouldn't that try to create the accounts using the old domain? I'm open to any suggestion that will keep us from having to either change passwords on all the user's accounts, or try and guide all our users into how to use the Migration tool themselves.

    Thanks for any advice you might have!

    Hi Brad,

    I'm no expert, but just a thought... When importing PST files, you import them into a single mailbox - to do this you use the destination mailboxes' credentials.

    I don't think that logging in as an administrator and migrating data from specific PST's to specific mailboxes is supported (I can't recall a method for mapping PST's to mailboxes).

    If I'm right, I'd suggest maybe creating multiple XML files (one for each PST/destination credentials pair - mapping PST to mailbox), and scripting a method of processing one PST/XML file combo at a time. I'd also suggest lodging an RFE for the functionality you originally assumed was there.. I'd vote for it!

    Hope this helps Again, not an expert. Good luck!

    Thanks Pancakes!

    It's nice to know that I'm not just missing something or making a mistake somewhere. I did some searching and it looks like someone else has already started this RFE as bug 90116:
    https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=90116

    I've added a comment and voted for it. If anyone else is interested in this functionality, please vote.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for digging up the RFE! I've added my vote & also suggest others missing this functionality do the same.
