    Default RDNS problem

    Hello everyone,

    I host multiple domains on one server. And on one of the domains i host a client of mine is having his email rejected by another email server. I emailed the administrator of that server with the error message,

    Reporting-MTA: dns;
    X-Postfix-Queue-ID: 4AFFE130C4BD
    X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822;
    Arrival-Date: Wed, 21 Mar 2007 16:09:58 -0700 (PDT)

    Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; host[] said: 550
    5.7.1 Requested action not taken: message refused (in reply to end of DATA

    He replied with

    You need to setup a RDNS record for Currently it comes back as so it appears that you are spoofing which will cause problems for mail users of

    Now currently the DNS for points to my web server (which also hosts multipple domains) , and the RDNS for my webserver points to my domain, (

    The MX record for points to who's RDNS is

    Now my question is, how can I have's RDNS point to when the IP for efaganlaw's RDNS is set to my domain, ?

    Do you host your own DNS? I'm guessing not, if you have an incorrect reverse lookup record.

    Contact them, they can fix that for you.
