    Default kvoop user 100% cpu

    Hello,

I've got a kvoop process that use 100% cpu and slow down the use of the web interface. We sometimes have a popup telling us that the server is too busy and it asks us if we want to cancel our request. I could not find what was the use of this process. When the server begin to slow down, I kill the process with a kill -15 <pid>.

I'm sure it's not a good way to solve this problem.

We actually use Zimbra 4.5.0_GA_612.RHEL4 on a Redhat ES4.4 cluster.

    Welcome to the forums.

I believe there was a problem with attachments that was fixed in 4.5.1 - I'd suggest upgrading to the most recent release of Zimbra.
    Regards

I'm quite upset. I could not believe that's the only way ton solve our problem. You're talking about attachments. Is there a link with the compact task ? If so, is there a way to know on which attachment from which mailbox cause the problem ?

If not, I'm going to kill -15 a lot until we'll learn how zimbra work.

    Ps: I come from Hennebont.

I believe it was a bug that was fixed in 4.5.1, we don't issue patches as all updates come as a 'point' release update to the package hence my suggestion to upgrade.

Nicolas, considering what you're saying of your setup, I know who you are (where, at least which setup you're talking about)

You really really really should upgrade to 4.5.3.
    I meant it.
    Vraiment.

This will also help in resolving the migration from Domino issues (see Franck's thread about this, a couple of days ago).

I'm not exactly up to speed with my clairvoyance at the moment. Do you have exactly the same problem as that bug report, same error messages, same info in your logs? Have you raised a support case for this?

Doesn't look like it is the same as the bug report, I was just seeing kvoop pegged at 100% for a few mins...

But I also see that mysql pegs for minutes at a time...

I have many things open in support right now. All of which I have heard nothing in over a week, and have been open for about 3 weeks now... Trying to see the point in opening tickets if they don't get any attention.

The Forums are awesome, and the Zimbra Employees that troll the forums are always very quick and on the ball, and always dish out very good advice/answers very quickly, but support.... not so much.

    Thanks,
    Nutz
