I'll try that tonight after I do the upgrade to 4.5.5 (for other reasons).
Ran MY upgrade (4.4.4 to 4.5.5 on RHEL4) last night as well: all smooth.
I had to re-copy my entire tomcat directory back in; thought it was just the skins that got over-rode (I serve up a bunch of other stuff via that tomcat folder), but of course I had a good backup!
Also had to copy back in amavisd.conf.in (something close to that spelling) as it had a fresh amavisd.conf (just required me do do a quick stop to apply it-but it's an other interesting note of things that got overwritten.
Thank you mmorse!
No problem! Only wish I could use it myself, but I can't modify an exim edge mta to my liking :(
So in wrap-up, the final solution to add recipient_delimiter + 'plus addressing' to send an email to email@example.com and still get it at firstname.lastname@example.org is:
(some might have luck with postfix reload instead of a full reboot)Quote:
zmprov mcf zimbraMtaRecipientDelimiter +
zmcontrol stop start
This could be duplicated with any 'standard' symbol such as '-'
If I could use this solution myself...I would personally setup '-' to automatically tag/folder an incoming email.
So if I send something to myself email@example.com it would file/tag with stuffforfirewall.
And '+' which is common to most systems, would be for signing up for something say at firstname.lastname@example.org
Then when I start getting junk from sites I can see who they sell my email to/who leaked it, or filter to trash/junk.
