Default user+detail format for email address

As a sendmail standard feature you can send to a user such as foo+bar@domain and the email will deliver to foo@domain.

Many of my users wish to be able to do this through our Zimbra server, but get bounces. Is there a way to enable this?

Thank you,
Nutz

Not sure I know what you mean. Are you talking aliases? IOW ... if I have an account

"Bob Smith" <bob@mydomain.com>

I can send to bob.smith@domain.com, bsmith@domain.com and bob@domain.com and every one of these will get delivered to "Bob"?

If that's the case, create aliases for the other accounts and point them to bob@domain.com

If that's not what you mean ... please explain more

Regards,
Lonny

No, it's closer to the following (Zimbra already supports the above):

user+spam@technicaldetails.org
user+important@technicaldetails.org
user+nothing@technicaldetails.org

should all be routed to:
user@technicaldetails.org

Could have sworn we had a request open for this-to be able to set delimiters in admin console- but I can't find it-perhaps i'm not using the proper search terms...
Basically:
https://gmail.google.com/support/bin...y?answer=12096

So say I'm using my email at a website-i can put the email as me+website@domain.com
then when i start getting tons of spam sent to that address-i know they have a shitty privacy policy, shared my address etc.

In addition it makes it easy to apply filters-all you have to enter is the 'to' address.

Milage may vary but in postfix it's:
recipient_delimiter = +
sometimes with '+' or ''+';

look in /opt/zimbra/postfix/main.cf three lines down

I've come accross this before-but I couldn't enable it-because all our mail comes in through 2 mta's one of which i can't add the 'plus' feature for-so it makes no difference

This seems to be set by Zimbra via use of a variable...

In zmmta.cf:

POSTCONF recipient_delimiter VAR zimbraMtaRecipientDelimiter

Where might I be able to set this variable?

When I change the value in /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf it reverts when I run "postfix reload"

Thank you,
Nutz

That gets the line into main.cf, but I'm still getting bounces...
