Question forwarding log from server2 to server1

    Dear All,

Thanks so much for the continuing fantastic software.

We have two servers (both network edition) and I would like to forward the logs from server2 to server1 but struggling to pull this off. (having server2 entries show in the default system syslog (not Zimbra's log) on server1 is not what we want, which we did get once when we forwarded server2 to "server1:514")

Has any one else got this working? Thoughts? Pitfalls? Drawbacks? Advice?

Anything & everything related is most appreciated.

    Thanks very much.

you could mount the log folder in system2 to point at system1's folder...

    move over files to server1
    remove folder from server 2
mount folder from server 1 on server 2

    OR

mount the remote folder on server 2
move the current contents to the mount on server1
make a symboliclink link on server 2 to point to the mount

I was hoping to use the standard (& very mature) syslog protocol.
    Thanks very much.

you'll need to add the zimbra entries from syslog.conf into server2.
