    Default "Hello world" zimlet showing up?

    I am trying to follow the wiki's instructions for creating a "Hello world" zimlet at HelloWorldZimlet - Zimbra :: Wiki, and have (I believe) successfully followed the instructions and goten expected output, up to running "/opt/zimbra/bin/zmzimletctl listZimlets" and getting com_zimbra_hello to show up in all three of "Installed Zimlet files on this host:", "Installed Zimlets in LDAP:", and "Available Zimlets in COS:".

    However, I am having trouble seeing the Zimlet in the UI. I haven't done anything from my user account other than what I mention below to refresh the Zimlet list, but I tried and I can't see anything that looks like a hello anything Zimlet available. I tried a browser shift-reload, logging out and in again, attempting an /etc/init.d/zimbra restart (which seemed to hang indefinitely), and after that hung, rebooted the machine--Zimbra seemed to come up fine, but no new Zimlet.

    Is there anything besides the steps in the Wiki page linked above, that I can or should do to cause the "Hello, world!" Zimlet to show up?

    Thanks,

    Default

    -Send yourself a message containing "Hello World".
    -Open it

    If "Hello World" is highlighted and a mouse over give you a tooltip "Hello World Zimlet", then it works!

    If it doesn't, try by putting your zimlet in a _dev folder :

    Default Can't get HW zimlet to work under Windows zdesktop

    Hi. I am trying to get the simple Hello World xml-only zimlet as described in

    HelloWorldZimlet - Zimbra :: Wiki

    using the _dev directory method described at

    ZimletWritingTip - Zimbra :: Wiki

    I placed this xml in the _dev directory:

    <zimlet name="com_zimbra_hello" version="1.0" description="Hello World">
    <contentObject>
    <matchOn>
    <regex attrs="ig">Hello World</regex>
    </matchOn>
    <toolTip>Hello World Zimlet</toolTip>
    </contentObject>
    </zimlet>

    under filename com_zimbra_hello.xml and restarted zdesktop.

    No HW zimlet appears in the zimlets section of the GUI. I also tried sending myself an email containing the string "Hello World" but the string is not underlined or highlighted.

    Does the _dev directory work in the windows version of zdesktop?

    Exclamation

    Don't put the xml file directly in "_dev" :
    -create a folder "com_zimbra_hello" in "_dev"
    -Put the file "com_zimbra_hello.xml" in "com_zimbra_hello"
