Default [SOLVED] Update Zimbra Users via LDAP

I'm trying to integrate Zimbra with Drupal using LDAP. I can read out user information without any problems, but I'm unable to write to the LDAP database. Since Zimbra obviously does update LDAP, I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing.

Do I need to create a new account with edit permissions or is there a Zimbra-created user I can log into that will work?

    Thanks!

Do not, under any circumstances, try and update the Zimbra openLDAP - you may break your server.

Bill, thank you for your feedback. To clarify, I just want to modify user attributes (name, address, telephone etc.) stored in LDAP. It should be fairly innocuous. I'm not trying to add any fields that aren't already in use or make any sweeping changes to the openLDAP server or it's configuration.

    Is that still dangerous?

In that case you should be aware that any changes you make will get overwritten during an upgrade. If you're still keen to go ahead the you can get the password with the following:

    Code:
    zmlocalconfig -s ldap_root_password

Thanks, I'm able to log-in and make the changes I want now. I very much appreciate your assistance.
