    Default Error in Zimbra

    Hi I am getting this error


    Cannot connect to server.

    I tried restarting the service after deleting redo.log which I read somewhere on the forum. That didnt work either. Its getting stuck after a point and the log mentions that it can't access a particular file with .msg extension.

    Now the mails in that folder are pretty old and have been imported using Thuderbird from Eudora. What could be the problem ?> Need urgent help.

    I need urgent help.. Would appreciate if someone could answer my doubt.. My stuck coz of this error..

    could you check if C:\Documents and Settings\rajeev.toshniwal.TIPL\Local Settings\Application Data\Zimbra\zdesktop\store\0\2\msg\31\128621-109792.msg exists? If it does, do you have permission read/write this file?

    Yes this file exists.. How do I check the permissions ?? Right click it go to properties there it shows that I have the permission.. It wasn't read only. Checked the next tab in properties. And that too didn't seem to say that I don't have the permission to work on it ? Is this a known issue ?

    Surprisingly it had synced all these files but because I had to format my computer coz of some issue in the span for 2 days I had to re sync.. And this time it gave these errors..

    I deleted this message in the web client and tried re syncing but that didnt help. Zimbra Desktop kept showing Could not connect to server. I tried deleting the redo.log and Restarting Zimbra service.. Nothing helped. I had to reinstall Zimbra and sync again (after removing a few messages above and below the message which had the problem). I was able to sync but I am wondering why did this happen.. At the end of it I had to get rid of 2-3 folders which gave problem in syncing.

    Can you tell me the difference between Quit and Shutdown Service ?

    Quit - close UI, but backend service is still running and syncing your emails

    Shutdown - close both UI and backend service.
