Well it sounds good, but VMware isn't exactly known as a open source company, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. I am hopeful though as I am a big fan of VMware!

When companies are in acquisition talks, neither party can really talk about it.

It is best when these things just happen, but there is almost always some secretary or someone that talks.

It's certainly interesting to consider. VMware may not exactly be an open source company, but my guess is that VMware has been trying to work with Microsoft to increase use of exchange on VMware and they have probably realized that Microsoft is not going to work to make Exchange work better on VMware when they are trying to sell HyperV. So, VMware gets double the benefit with Zimbra. Kill Exchange and make a killer collaboration suite for VMware.

I have to admit this made me smile this morning, I am so glad Zimbra is out of yahoo's hand and all the yahoo crap can go bye bye too.

I like Vmware as a company and I think the 2 will tie in very nicely together. This really is good news to me, can't wait to re-sign my Zimbra contracts in September now.

I hope you mean re-sign, and not resign.

Ah yes.. fixed.. I will definitely be signing for another 3 years now. Honestly Zimbra has been the least painful server product I have ever had in production.
