Default Spell check in other langage than the system...

    Hi all,

I am working on ZD 0.92 (build 1418) on Linux Ubuntu 8.10.
My system is installed in English. But I would like to get the spell check
    in other langage.

If I am working with firefox, Zimbra use the spell check plugin installed in the
browser... So I got it to work in the wished langage.

How can I do the same with ZD ?

    Thx,
    Marc.

We have a bug filed for this: Bug 34200 – support spelling check dictionaries for non en-us locales. We are actively working on a solution.

    Default Alternative Solution

I faced the same problem a few days ago. What it worked for me was to download the dictionaries, in my case, for Spanish Language, from OppenOffice, since the same dictionary engine is used. Many languages are available on this link

    Dictionaries - OpenOffice.org Wiki

Then I renamed both files and repalced the ones in ZD.

    Those files are (in Windows)

    /Documents an Settings/<user>/Local settings/Application Data/Zimbra/zdesktop/win32/prism/xulrunner/dictionaries

And the files to be replace are

    en-US.dic
    en-US.aff

    hi felipe,

thanks for the answer : it works perfectly.
For linux user the directory is zdesktop/linux/prism/xulrunner/dictionaries

and to get the right version of the dictionnary, follow the OO's version installed on your system.

We just posted an instruction on how to install other dictionaries we support. We may try to make the installation easier in the future (like how you would do it on FF), but for now, it requires a few manual steps.

Is it possible to switch between different installed dictionaries while ZD is open? I write emails in multiple languages.
