Default Disabling one account (Not resetting) temporarily

While doing the sync operation (send/receive) after installing the latest version 1482 build, I find that one of the accounts (Gmail) gives error. I have a huge number of emails in this account (mostly non-important subscription emails). Is there any way to disable this account "temporarily" to complete the sync of the other accounts first. If I reset the gmail account totally, it will take me two days (in my area) to get all the mails back from gmail server.

just switch your gmail account's sync schedule to manual.
