    you shouldn't be editing prefs.js. anyway, you can try add them to

    linux/prism/extensions/prism-runtime@developer.mozilla.org/defaults/preferences/preferences.js. but instead of using user_pref(), you need to use pref().

    if it still does not work, please copy-n-paste the lines you added to preferences.js here.

I tried adding them to the uesr.js file as you suggested and I also tried adding them to the prefs.js file, which is where I found them in my Firefox profile. I shutdown and restarted ZD from the command line after making the changes, and also tried totally rebooting my PC after the simple command line restart did not work. There were no references to proxy settings in either the user.js and prefs.js prior to me adding these lines, so I still go back to my question of where is ZD getting these settings in the first place? We have a few different proxy servers running. We do not have any network services that would allow an application to automatically pick up the proxy settings. If I use any web app under any operating system, whether it be Linux, Windows, or Mac I am required to manually enter the proxy settings.

    I did some additional testing on the same workstation by setting up the Zimbra Desktop under a different Unix account and using a different Zimbra account. I then forwarded along the particular message that I know prompts me for the proxy settings. Under this different account I was never prompted for the proxy settings and the html loaded up fine when I click on the "Display Images" button.

    I'm stumped.

    Tried the preferences.js file... Still being prompted for user name and password.

    Here are the lines I added:
    Code:
    pref("network.proxy.http", "myproxy.mydomain.com″);
    pref("network.proxy.http_port", 3128);
    pref("network.proxy.type", 1);
    (I changed my actual proxy server name)

    Soxfan, You could find a way to set proxy? because I need to do the same on my environment. I followed your instructions and the zdesktop support too but no positive result.
