    Unhappy [SOLVED] Is my server being used by others as a relay server?????

    I'm quite confused by the fact that users other than those in my domain are appearing as top senders and receivers while executing the zmdailyreport command from the libexec directory..also I could see other users from yahoo,hotmail,etc as senders in the queue statistics from the admin console.can anyone on the forum provide some suggestions to stop other users from appearing in my server...is my server being used as relay server....

    It could be backscatter that you are seeing ... Check to ensure that you have not opened up your Postfix network settings to be a openrelay
    Code:
    su - zimbra
    zmprov gs `zmhostname` zimbraMtaMyNetworks
    You could also run a external test to ensure that you are not a relay aswell :-

    I presume by the fact that you have 'X' out that other IP address that is your server ? If so, you should only have in zimbraMtaMyNetworks the IP ranges that you wish to allow email to be relayed for.

    In the interest of attempting to lock down zimbra as tight as possible, I've been playing with this a bit too...

    I was going off this guide:
    ZimbraMtaMyNetworks - Zimbra :: Wiki

    So, my allowed IP ranges are:
    127.0.0.1/8 xxx.xxx.xxx.16/32

    the xxx.xxx is my exact IP address, no longer a range...

    I think this is correct...??? Hopefully that helps you as well...

    That setting should only be for networks you trust to relay. Your external IP does not need to be listed as 127.0.0.1 will be used by the server for its own relay.
