    Default [SOLVED] Change 127.0.0.1 address...

    Hi...

    Is it possible to add a fix IP address instead of 127.0.0.1 address in order to gain remote access to my Zimbra Desktop?

    Thank you.

    you may edit this file: jetty/etc/jetty.xml. you need to delete or comment out this line, like this:

    <!-- Set name="host">127.0.0.1</Set -->

    then restart zd backend service. zd should now listen on all ip addresses.

    to get the url for browser accessing, launch zd, go to account setup, click on "open in browser" link at the bottom of setup page.

    Unhappy doesn't work...

    Hi!...

    I've followed your instructions without success. ZD is always running in 127.0.0.1.
    I've changed my IP fix instead of 127.0.0.1 in the jetty file and I get the same IP in the browser (127.0.0.1).

    By the way, my hosts file has the following configuration:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    xxx.xxx.xxx.xx mydomain.com domain
    Any other way to change this?... In fact it's really useful allow a remote access to my Zimbra Desktop.

    Thank you in advance.

    You did not follow the instructions, you were asked to delete or comment out that line in the jetty.xml and not put your IP in there. Did you also restart the server?

    BTW, your hosts file is incorrect. The 127.0.0.1 line is fine but the second line should have the format of:

    Code:
    192.168.1.x name.yourdomain.com name
    where name is the name of your PC plus your domain name and obviously your fixed IP, that will give you the FQDN of your PC.

    It doesn't need any other way to change this, it works with the instructions you've been given.

    Thumbs up Clarification...

    Hello All!...

    Just to clarify... Finally I've accessed to my Zimbra account through an IP fix but the jetty.xml file isn't in /etc/jetty/jetty.xml. The file is located on:

    /home/[user]/zimbra/zdesktop/jetty/etc/jetty.xml
    At least, in Fedora 11 that's running fine.

    Regards.
