Default zdesktop does not shut down properly under ubuntu hardy

    Hi to all,

each time i close zdesktop (clicking on the cross at the top right of the window) the zdesktop processes don't close properly and if i launch zdesktop again i have the following message:
Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop process, or restart your system.

    As a workaround i do a
    ps auxww | grep zdesktop
and then i kill the offending processes.

I have looked at zdesktop.log (the only log recent enough to hold any information about the app shutting down), it shows no error, i have searched the forum and bugzilla but could not find something similar. Am i the only one with this problem ?

    Versions information:

    zdesktop version:
    zdesktop v1.0 build 1593 - Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072406 Prism (zdesktop/1.0)
    cat /proc/version :
    Linux version 2.6.28-13-generic (buildd@palmer) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #44-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 2 07:57:31 UTC 2009
    java -version :
    java version "1.6.0_0"
    OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.4.1) (6b14-1.4.1-0ubuntu7)
OpenJDK Client VM (build 14.0-b08, mixed mode, sharing)

you should kill zdclient process, not the java(zdesktop) process. zdesktop is the backend service which continues to sync your emails in the background when the frontend UI is not running.

i have tested and confirm that killing only the zdclient process is enough.

I have filled Bug 39073 in bugzilla.

I run the Zdesktop client on my machine and haven't had any issues like that. I run 64bit 9.04
Release 6.0.2_GA_1912.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 NETWORK edition + Mobile Option
Activesync with Moto Q9C, HTC Touch Pro, Palm Pro, & Palm Pre
