Default Zimbra Deskop Export Size Limitations

I have a Zimbra Desktop account that has 77,000 emails in approximately 9GB. Every time I attempt an export, the export stops at 443MB and will not export the full email folder.

Is there a size limitation with the export or some other issue that would not allow the export of the just the Inbox Folder?

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

(Yes, I google'd and searched the issue and found nothing definitive in re the issue )

And yes, I am very well aware of the 77,000 in a yahoo account....

I had nothing to do with it! LOL!!!!!

    This is a preservation.

It's possible that you're running up against a close relative of Bug 72299:

Backup / export of local folders saves only meta data

It is conjectured in that case that the problem lies in the complexity of the subfolder structure within the folder you're trying to backup. It may well be that the export/backup aborts prematurely or otherwise fails because the underlying SQL queries run up against parameter limits.

Perhaps you might like to add your experience to the above bug's record on Bugzilla with the suggestion that it could have a similar cause.

The sub-folders in this particular Zimbra account are upwards of 50. So the only option I have then is to create a PST from withing the local application directory.

This preservation took some time to download as you can imagine. As soon as I create a backup of it, I'll investigate further and report my findings here.

I don't think the OS or the hardware plays a role here. I believe the root cause of the undesirable behavior is a backup routine that fails to handle complex directory tree structures.

(For the record, I'm running Zimbra Desktop on the Ubuntu side of a 64-bit dual-boot Windows 7 / Ubuntu 12.04 LTS laptop.)
