Cool Delete the %AppData% Zimbra folders...

What I've found out, if you run the zdrun.vbs from the command line using cscript, then the missing path is shown (causing 800A004C).

Following this, it helps to goto %AppData% with Windows Explorer and to locate the Zimbra folder. Therein you can see three subfolders, at least on my Windows 7 Professional x64 installation. Moving or deleting those folders away will reset your user Zimbra settings. At a new start Zimbra Desktop will launch and has to be re-configured.

I assume that this behaviour is caused by having the users' data outside the standard path C:\Users in this case in D:\Benutzer\USER\... (which is German for Users).

I hope this helps you folks to solve or at least work around the issue.

    Cheers,
    GriGio

Yes, but be aware that you will need to re-setup Zimbra Desktop. I.e. no account data and specific settings will be available from previous installations...

Thanks grigio - with your information I was able to get it to run and import a really old backup (for some reason the backup wasn't running for months and I never noticed). Not sure where my email is - pretty sure it's been whiped out. I have an SSD drive as well so I believe it was saving it to the harddrive but not sure. I will never trust it again since I have lost so much. I'm currently running Windows Live Mail because Outlook 2010 also won't run on my computer. Any recommendations for email systems when you have multiple accounts?

I found the folder with what looks like all my missing emails.
I have zimbra running again - but its really just like a fresh install.
Anybody have any idea how I an recover all those emails?

I have re-run update through the software today and was preparing to delete profile, re-index etc....but....guess what....installed...not an issue. restart Zimbra ok. I bet Zimbra support had fixed the issue.

ps.. anyone successful updated to 7.2.2 without fiddling ..should post a note here..

I was too early to say Zimbra fixed 7.2.2..I update another computer....same problem....now I wonder why I can update my first computer no problem...unstable version?

added: repair did not fix the problem (cpu2)..got an error..
    then uninstall...
    reinstall...from download
it works...not sure why so unstable..
