I am running Zimbra Desktop 7.2.2. GA Built 111951 in Windows 7 64bit
I set up Zimbra as my default mail application (by checking the box in preferences)
When I click on an e-mail address in Firefox, Zimbra would start.
When I click on an "e-mail" in Windows Photo Viewer (Windows 7 app), Zimbra would start
When I click on an e-mail address in a MS Word document or/and in OpenOffice, Zimbra won't start. Instead Windowslive Mail starts.
When I click on an e-mail address in Internet Explorer, Zimbra won't start. Instead Windowslive Mail starts.
I want to use Zimbra as my default email client in all these applications, I don't want Windowslive Mail to start (but I don't want to delete it either)
As an Administrator, I tried to change "Set program access and Computer defaults" in Windows 7 but when I try to select Zimbra as a default, the change does not take effect. (see picture below)
In the same section, under "non-Microsoft", I cannot change the e-mail program to Zimbra: the OK button is dimmed and doesn't work (see picture below)
In the "Associate a file Type and protocol with a specific program" section, MAILTO is associated with Windowslive Mail . If I click on it, Zimbra does not appear as an option. The only other option is Google Chrome. (see picture below)
In the "set your default program" section, neither Windowslive nor Zimbra are listed (see picture below)
I have heard that it may be a problem with the registry and that there is a way to intervene at that level by editing certain registry keys.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
