    Question Irish/UK date format

    Hi,

We have recently begun to evaluate Zimbra and found it impressive.

Running on FC3 the server date and time are set correctly for our Region (GMT)

Mails are dated correctly however all the calendar entries are in US format (mm/dd/yyyy) where do I change the format to Irish ( dd/mm/yyyy) ?

    Many thanks
    Rory

    Default

    This is currently defined in:
    /Ajax/WebRoot/js/config/data/AjxConfig.js

We need to expose it as a preference. It's planned.

    Default AjxConfig.js

    Thanks

I found that file in two locations :

    /opt/zimbra/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.7/webapps/zimbraAdmin/js/ajax/config/data/AjxConfig.js

    /opt/zimbra/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.7/webapps/zimbra/js/ajax/config/data/AjxConfig.js

    and changed accordingly.

However it hasn't made a difference - do I have the wrong files and does a service have to be restarted for the change to take effect ?

    thanks in advance

    Rory

A Shift-Reload on your browser should do it. Are you checking in the INBOX message list? BTW: In the next release this option will be in the i18n .property files so it won't be as hard to change.

    Thanks Kevin,

but I've even used a browser that had not been used before and no joy.

It manifests itself when making a new appointment in the calendar .. dates in mail etc display correctly because they invariably have the month in text..

The i18n in the Calendar is not complete in the current build. This will be fixed in the very near future.

How is it possible to fix this in 5.0.1? Is it still not a preference? I could set the language in the COS, but couldnt see any date preferences.

    Default Date formats matter

Ditto for Australian date format in zcs-5.0.2

Zimbra developers: This is basic high visibility stuff that significantly upsets users. It reflects badly on Zimbra that you overlook basics like this and adopt a US centric worldview.

I love the new features in zcs 5.0 but you don't realise how much reputation you lose with these minor oversights!
