    Default Changing SMTP port

    Hello,

How do you modify (replace) the MTA SMTP port?

We're trying to get zimbra working side-by-side with another mail system (so that we can migrate to zimbra slowly). We need to get zimbra to not use port 25, but for some reason we can't quite get it to work.

This is the relevant entry from our /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/master.cf file
(smtp2 should be set for port 26)

    smtp2 inet n - n - - smtpd

What you should do is read the article in the wiki entitled Split Domain, that will give you details of running Zimbra with another mail server in your domain. That assumes you have another server for Zimbra, if that's not the case then check the wiki and forums for details on changing the port.
    Regards

Nope, this is the same server (as the servers are literally fully failover-tolerant, when one fails the other seamlessly takes over all services).
    Thanks for the suggestion though!

Turns out what I'm after requires a modification of the instructions found in this thread:
    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/install...-mappings.html

Example-> change smtp to port 26
    1. modify /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/master.cf
    from: smtp inet n - n - - smtpd
    to: 26 inet n - n - - smtpd
    2. zmprov mcf zimbraSmtpPort 26
    3. zmcontrol stop;zmcontrol start

WARNING: Steps 1 & 4 must also be performed every time you upgrade zimbra!

You may also need to run this command:
    zmprov ms [YOUR-SERVER-NAME] zimbraSmtpPort 26 (e.g 'zmprov ms internal.encryptec.net zimbraSmtpPort 26')

Now all this is still being tested.. not even sure that it's all working (logger says its running, but getting no server status atm, but thats a separate issue...).

Whilst I've got your attention though... is there a way to get back into the CLI config screen that you see during install, without having to reinstall the system?

No- but that config can be viewed using the zmconfig command.

may I mark this thread as solved?

Its not quite solved. Turns out you seem to need the zmprov ms command as well...

Also, I can't get the logger working properly: zmcontrol says everythings "Running", but the web "server status" page is complaining that "Server status data is not available. To see the server status, logger service must be installed". (It is installed.)

Also, I'm getting this error whilst attempting to access the mail queues:

    Message: system failure: exception during auth {RemoteManager: zimbra.***.co.uk->zimbra@zimbra.***.co.uk:22}
    Error code: service.FAILURE
    Method: ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
    Details:soap:Receiver

    Edit:
Fixed: needed to move the ssh as well (this was running in a chroot, to try and keep it fully separate. We've given up on that idea now...)
