Default All my inbound mail is 'deferred' (connection refused)

Today I downloaded and installed 4.5.4 GA on a single server.
I used the appliance ISO (uses rPath linux).
The server is NATed behind my linksys firewall. (port 25 etc is open/forwarded)

I can send outbound mail just fine.
All Inbound mail shows in the queue as "deferred"
If i hover over the message, it shows this error:
Reason: connect to mail.wowie.us[206.55.152.34]: connection refused

I read some other posts about making sure the hosts file has some entries
Mine has this (in this order)

    # Do not remove the following line, or various programs
    # that require network functionality will fail.
    127.0.0.1 mail.wowie.us localhost.localdomain localhost mail
    192.168.1.44 mail.wowie.us mail
    206.55.152.34 mail.wowie.us mail

On the console of zimbra server I can ping Yahoo! etc and it resolves fine.

    How can I fix this?
    Thanks

    Default

    Remove this line
    Code:
    206.55.152.34 mail.wowie.us mail
from your hosts file and install a local DNS server for a Split DNS.
    Regards

In addition, you should also change this line
    Code:
    127.0.0.1 mail.wowie.us localhost.localdomain localhost mail
    to this
    Code:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    Regards

Default will this split DNS procedure also work on the rPath linux?

the instructions on the wiki mention Red Hat. I just wanted to make sure.
