    Question [SOLVED] Zimbra on JFS

Is it possible (or even supported) to run Zimbra Network Edition (latest version in the 4.5 series) on the JFS filesystem? I've done some searching around on Google as well as the Zimbra forums and wiki, but really the only slightly relevant info I've found was at /forums/administrators/10375-1-message-per-mailstore.html#post54426

I realize that Zimbra recommends ext3, but we've found in our company that JFS has some pretty significant performance benefits over ext3 and we'd like to run all JFS if possible. Has anyone done this? Does Zimbra use some specific features of ext3 that make it undesirable/impossible to run on another filesystem? Do we void our support with for the Network Edition by running on JFS?

As far as I'm aware, there no problem in running Zimbra on a JFS file system (I prefer xfs myself ). The reason we recommend ext3 is because it's the one we test on and it's the most commonly used file system tec, etc....

If you're happy with the facilities that JFS provides for backup and maintenance then feel free to use it. If you'd like a definitive answer then please check with support but I wouldn't see any problems.
    Regards
