Default Zimbra 5.0RC1 getting somewhat broken

    Hello,

I have a whole lot of problem with zimbra, services stay up for only ~20 minutes, so I had to put a cron restarting zimbra (I don't know why they stop working so often, sometimes zimbra stay online for days, and sometime it just doesn't want to start).

    Current config :

    Debian 4.0
    Zimbra 5.0RC1

Here's an example of what I'm getting on the console while trying to see zimbra's status :

    Code:
    Usagi:~# su - zimbra
    zimbra@Usagi:~$ zmcontrol status
    Segmentation fault

Any help in getting this fixed is welcome. I'll try updating to 5.0RC2 for now...

looks like your underlying OS is borked. uninstall perl (you may well have to force a removal, and purge it), then reinstall.

Keep us posted on this. We saw it in QA with RHEL 5 and Fedora 7.

The running theory is that it is the OS.

Ok, it seems that this server froze many times (zimbra is the only app running on this) and the hard disk got corrupt (watchdog automatically reboots the system if frozen) so I just rebooted it in rescue mode and fixed hard disk.

It seems OK now, so I'll try rebooting and updating zimbra to see if it helps.

    EDIT: Ok...

dns looks unhappy. look in the zmsetup log for further details. also look at this for upgrading debian4 package:
