Another fix: You'll need to fix the log rotation script as its trying to restart syslogd and F8 uses rsyslog. Whats happening is that the zimbra.log file is rotated but rsyslog isn't being told to reopen the file, so it stays empty. The log file is required by tools such as the 'Server Status' section in the Admin console; if the log file is empty, then you get an error message saying that the server status isn't available and that logging needs to be installed. This can be very confusing, especially when you run 'zmcontrol status' and it shows logging is running.
* edit /etc/logrotate.d/zimbra
* Replace the line:
"killall -HUP syslogd 2> /dev/null || true"
"kill -HUP `cat /var/run/rsyslogd.pid 2> /dev/null` 2> /dev/null || true"
* run 'service rsyslog restart'
