    Welcome to the forums,

    Is this Ubuntu 6.06 LTS?

(sudo zimbra or su - zimbra)
    zmcontrol stop
    ps auxx |grep zimbra
& then kill -9 any left over services

First check if you have another ldap instance running/installed.
    Post your
    Code:
    netstat -a
    lsof | grep TCP | grep 389
You can try running (as root) ./zmfixperms from /opt/zimbra/libexec/ when you reach the step "The system will be modified - continue?"

If it becomes a 99 post your hostsfile for us (/etc/hosts)
    as well as:
    Code:
host `hostname` <---these are backticks not quotes & don't replace hostname
    dig any domain.com

Mike, we have someone on the french (soon to be here) forum with the same error.

Considering the error (same FQDN), Mat (here) is Kobe (there).
I'm waiting for the precise OS version and Zimbra version Kobe is trying to install.

Nice catch, I'll probably leave it to you and Bill if this particular thread starts into french, as translators occasionally miss subtle things and suck when it comes to technical details...
    Side notes:
You guys gonna be able to copy everything over for an archive & auto setup of users or just link/start fresh with the merge?

I'll come back here to ask questions if we don't find answers on the french forum.
He's running Ubuntu 6.10, I'm asking him to "downgrade" to the 6.06 LTS.

    Greg is handling this.
From what I understood, all the french forum content (and users) will become part of "here". But I don't know how they'll achieve it.

An error 99 means that the address ldap is trying to bind to, isn't on any of your interfaces. It gets that from the hosts file.

That means that the IP that you have for your server, isn't on your network card. Change your hosts file to your IP address.

-But it sounds like klug is first getting him on 6.06.1 instead of 6.10, might as well do it right, as I have no clue if it's NE or not.
